Shaun White has been at the helm of competitive snowboarding for more than a few years now, dominating almost every halfpipe and slopestyle contest in existence. He's won an Olympic gold medal and most recently a bronze medal in X-Games 14 Vert. From American Express commercials to, Target clothing lines, to his own blog full of raving fans, Shaun White has another trick up his sleeve. Getting your own signature character in a video game is one thing, getting your own video is a pinnacle for every professional athlete. Now UbiSoft is taking Shaun White to the digital level with a video game slated to be a milestone in the gaming industry. UbiSoft is creating two versions of Shaun White Snowboarding, one for the Xbox 360 & Playstation 3, the other version will be strictly for the Nintendo Wii. The Wii version of Shaun White Snowboarding will be the first home gaming system where the participant can control their snowboard by balancing and shifting their weight on the interactive Wii balance board. Speed control, carving, jumping and spinning will all be be controlled with the player standing on the Wii balance board.

While playing the Wii version of Shaun White Snowboarding, players will be able to ride with Shaun, but not actually "be" Shaun in the game. Shaun's character in the game will even play a bit more of a role in the Wii version, as your friend and mentor across the globe and back in a quest to become the best of the best, and have lots of fun doing it. Up to 4 players can play Shaun White Snowboarding at one time on the same console, however the Wii balance board uses 2 controller channels, so if 4 players are using the same console, they all have to use the standard Wii controllers. Players using the online functionality of the game will be able to ride mountains alongside other real gamers. This is quite a breakthrough for Snowboarding video games and gaming in general. Imagine kids and adults alike, all over the world, balancing on Wii Balance Boards in their living rooms, all riding along side each other on the same mountain in cyberspace. Shaun White Snowboarding for the Nintendo Wii is sure to be one of the hottest video games this fall. Shaun White Snowboarding should be available for the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 by mid October of 2008.

The Shaun White snowboarding game will offer a variety of game types, options and terrain to ride. If you pass your favorite jump or terrain you want to check out, you can stop, unstrap and hike to where you need to go. The game comes with it's own rocking soundtrack, but if you have mp3's on your Xbox, you can stream your own music over the game sounds.
